Rain limited Post 334 to just a 2-0 finish in the Hauschild tournament
The Post 334 baseball team just could not escape the rain in the Wayne Hauschild Memorial tournament June 25-26 in Brookings, South Dakota.
After its Saturday game with the host Brooking Bandits game was officially wiped out by torrents of water (Post 334 had a 7-0 lead in the second inning), a final tournament game against Volga, South Dakota on the Aurora field was ended in the third by another rain storm. At the time of that cancellation, Post 334 was ahead 4-0.
Prior to the second rain out, Post 334 dispatched the Spearfish, South Dakota team 12-0 in five innings. Luke Hite, Kyle Waterman, Ian Andrews, Joe Brinda and Mike Latta all had two hits each. Latta, however, had a double and home run — his second of the summer.
Post 334 scored five in the second inning , two in the third and capped its game with five in the fourth.
