Beam signs with Central Arizona JC
It was reported this weekend that Post 334 pitcher Cody Beam, who has been recovering from a ligament tear in his right elbow, has signed a letter of intent to attent and play next spring with Central Arizona Junior College.
Central Arizona finished third in the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series this spring. The program, meantime, has captured the NJCAA Region 1 championship eight of the past 11 years and readily moves players on to Division I programs throughout the country or into professional baseball.
Beam, who was not pitched since his elbow and shoulder injury this spring during a high school game for Coon Rapids against rival Blaine, will not begin throwing again until this fall. He was a member of the Post 334 staff in 2008 compiling a 4-2 record with a 3.41 earned run average and will be eligible to return to the club next summer (2010) after the conclusion of his first season with Central Arizona…
