Rain could not hold back the attack
A 45-minute relay delay before the first pitch was thrown and two innings without a baserunner could not delay the inevitable for Post 334 and its visit to Princeton Wednesday evening. In the end Post 334 put together a 9-hit attack to beat Princeton 12-4.
Pat Freese, who made his first American Legion start, picked up the win after six strong innings of 3-hit pitching. Doug Pouliot followed with three scoreless innings to close out the 9-inning game.
On the hitting side, Devin Croal broke out of an elongated slump with a pair of hits and both Josh Jensen and Tony Remund had doubles. Post 334’s breakthrough inning was an 8-run fourth, highlighted by Colton Adams’ bases loaded single. When the ball was misplayed in the wet grass of the outfield, two more runs scored and Adams went to third ahead of a high throw, which landed in the Post 334 dugout.
