Ouch again! Another 6-5 setback
Post 334’s start to the summer of 2009 is starting to take on a theme similar to the start of 2001: lots of early losses and few wins.
In fact, Post 334 dropped its second straight 6-5 game to open 2009 0-and-3. Whether or not Post 334 duplicates its turn-around run to the 2001 state championship remains to be seen.
This time the 6-5 loss was sustained in the first round of the Red River Classic tournament to the Moorhead Blues at Matson Field in Moorhead. Post 334 had a 4-1 lead going into the fifth, but Moorhead cut it to 5-4, then scored twice in the last of the sixth with consecutive sacrifice flys to tie, then take the lead. Post 334 scored four times in the top of the second to take a 4-1 lead thanks to a 2-run single by Trevor Daniels and a 2-run triple Mike Latta. A fifth run was scored in the fourth when Latta singled home Josh Jensen, who had reached on error…
