Thanks to these friends of the Post 334 American Legion baseball club
A special thank you to a pair of friends of Coon Rapids Post 334 American Legion baseball: Former Post 334 pitcher Jeff Pelkey and his partner Ryan Siverhus of Grandview Custom Homes LLC, Andover and team lisason John “Ring of Fire” Karst.
Both individuals made sizeable personal contributions in support of the 2009 baseball program.
Pelkey, who pitched on the 1993 Coon Rapids High School state championship team, was a member of the Post 334 squad for two summers — 1992 and 1993. He was a pitching force on the 1992 team that won the North Hennepin League regular-season title and finished third in the 10th District tournament. He also pitched for the 1993 team, which won all four of its weekend invitational tournament titles from Brookings to Jamestown.
Karst, who has served as the baseball team’ liason since the 1997 season, is a fixture with the Post 334 squad — both at home and on the road. His spirit and ability to relate to American Legion baseball fans of all ages has made him one of the favorites at ball parks from Rapid City, South Dakota to Evansville, Indiana…
