Sather, Post 334 prevailed again
Coming off his three-home run performance in the final game of the Gopher Classic, St. Cloud State-bound Zac Sather stepped up to the pitcher’s rubber Tuesday night and beat the Ham Lake Heat 7-2.
It was Sather’s fourth win against no losses this season. In the process of winning, he gave up just three hits and struck out seven batters. And though he did the job on the mound — pitching shut out ball until two out in the sixth — he also came through win the game’s key hit in the top half of that inning. His lead-off double to the base of the right-center field fence was the start of a five-run Post 334 rally to break open a scoreless game.
The Post 334 sixth also included five consecutive singles by Cory Miller, Andy Evans, Joe Brinda, Joe Morrissette and Preston Ghizoni, who had just rejoined the team this day after spending most of the season in North Carolina. Devin Croal then delivered the final hit of the inning, a run-scoring double. Post 334 added two more runs in the seventh on another single by Miller and a wild pitch.
The victory raised Post 334’s record on the season to 21-15…
