Spokane sets back Post 334
Day 3 of the Rapid City Firecracker tournament proved to be very frustrating for the Post 334 squad, a 3-1 loser to Spokane, Wash. Thursday afternoon (July 3).
Three errors led to three unearned runs against in this game — one in the first and two in the sixth off tough-luck starting pitcher Sumo Schroer. Post 334’s lone run was scored in the fifth inning on a Mike Latta single. Latta finished the day with two of the team’s six hits and raised his team-leading batting average to .484 on the season after 23 games.
