It was a loss and a win to open play in Dickinson’s Jablonsky tourney
The Post 334 squad opened play in the Terry Jablonsky wooden bat tournament in Dickinson, North Dakota Friday (June 27) with a 5-1 loss to Durango of Las Vegas, then a 5-2 win over Miles City, Montana.
The team was done in early in the game with Durango by a four-run, two-out rally in the first inning. Three of the runs were unearned after a dropped fly ball with the bases loaded. In the second game, Cody Beam gave up four hits and struck out 11 batters in leading Post 334 back to the 5-2 win over Miles City. Andy Evans came through in a big way with three hits including line-drive (wooden bat) doubles off the center field fence. Mike Latta complemented Evans with three hits as well and Carter Adams picked up a triple and Zac Sather a double in this game.
Post 334 now plays Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Saturday….
