Post 334 updended by Hopkins
Post 334’s magic in games with Hopkins over recent years did not last in the semifinal round of the Burnsville Snakepit tournament in a 5-4 loss Sunday.
Singles by Devin Croal, Mike Latta, Zac Sather and Andy Evans helped deliver three runs in the fourth and a fourth run was collected in the fifth on an infield out as Post 334 built a 4-1 lead. Sather, who was on the mound, cruised through the fifth into the sixth, but ran into one-out trouble. A hit batter and a throwing error bumped up runners to second and third and a double cut Post 334’s lead to 4-3. Big Dog Evans came on in relief but walked a man before Hopkins bunted runners up to second and third with two out. It then took the lead with an infield single and another single that just found a hole.
Post 334’s hitters did not come up with a response in either the sxith or seventh and lost its chance to face Eden Prairie in the tournament championship game…
